About Shauna Taylor

My Name is Shauna Taylor!  I am a wife, a mom, and the University of Arkansas Women’s Golf Coach.  I grew up playing golf and played collegiately at the University of Georgia. Post-graduation, I played professionally. After being diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, I poured myself into coaching golf at the collegiate level.  This experience has forever changed my life and has allowed me to develop and grow as a wife, a mom, and a leader.  One of the greatest blessings in my life is the opportunity to lead young women and to use golf as the vehicle to do so.

Over the past year navigating COVID, I had some time to reflect on what my 19 years of coaching have taught me. I found myself constantly coming back to the word “CONFIDENCE”.  There is no question that self-worth has been one of the most important traits to help not only myself but my teams flourish and evolve. I noticed by the time the young women came to our program here at Arkansas their self-belief was almost completely established.  From that idea, my chooseconfidence.org was born.

I wanted to create a concept that would help young people start laying the foundation for their self-belief system.  I had already started doing things at home with my little girl, Grace, and I noticed her confidence growing each and every day by doing simple tasks.  I thought to myself “What can I do to help young kids develop CONFIDENCE that did not require a lot of time but could be self-led at home and at school?”

Here we are today launching chooseconfidence.org! Paired with our confidence kits, kids can grow their self-confidence through basic tasks. Like anything in life, it takes work and discipline to develop a skill and I am passionate about helping young kids start to learn the importance of confidence and how it can be a skill that is developed with responsibility.
